The science, honestly
How the science reads: red and near-infrared light (photobiomodulation / low-level laser therapy) penetrate the skin toward joint tissue, where research suggests they can lower pain signaling and support local blood flow. A meta-analysis (10 trials, 542 people) found photobiomodulation significantly reduced knee-osteoarthritis pain and disability at optimal doses (red ~630–660 nm, near-infrared ~800–1000 nm), though authors rate certainty as low and call it a complement to, not a replacement for, standard care.
